Bukimi Miki, the creator of Shy, announced on their X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday that the manga will conclude in three chapters, ending with its 293rd chapter and bringing the long-running story to a close.
Miki began drawing the action drama story as a one-shot, which won the Newcomer’s Grand Prize in Akita Shoten’s Next Champion in 2016. The manga began serialization in Weekly Shounen Champion in August 2019. Akita Shoten shipped the 31st volume on October 8, with the 32nd and final volume scheduled for release on December 8. The manga has a cumulative 1.4 million copies in circulation.
8bit adapted Shy into a 12-episode television anime, which aired in Fall 2023, followed by a second season in Summer 2024. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime worldwide with subtitles and an English dub, excluding Asia.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022. The 11th volume went on sale on October 28, and the 12th volume is scheduled for release in February 2026.
