The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Touko Amekawa announced on Thursday that an anime adaptation of the light novel Akutou Ikka no Manamusume, Tensei-saki mo Otome Game no Gokudou Reijou deshita. Saijoukyuu Rank no Akuyaku-sama, Sono Dekiai wa Fuyou desu! (Reincarnated in a Mafia Dating Sim: A Yakuza Heiress Becomes the Top-Ranked Villain’s Romantic Target!) is currently in production.
Amekawa began writing the romantic fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in April 2022. TO Books launched the light novel with illustrations by Meiji Anno under the TO Bunko imprint in May 2023, with later volumes featuring illustrations by LINO. The fourth volume went on sale on August 1, with the fifth volume scheduled for release on December 1.
A manga adaptation by Sora Gouto (Joou Heika to Yobanaide) began serialization on the Corona EX website in January 2023. The fourth volume was released on March 1, with the fifth volume set to be released on December 1.
Tokyopop licensed the manga in English in February 2025. The first two volumes were released in August and September 2025, with the third volume scheduled to be released on February 3, 2026.
Synopsis
Francesca has been reincarnated into an otome game as the beloved daughter of a villainous family, with Leonardo, a handsome young man from the underworld, as her destined love interest. In her previous life, danger followed her everywhere as a result of growing up in a yakuza household, and she had no chance for love or friendship. Her only wish had been to be reborn into a normal family and have friends.
But reality has other plans. Her fiancé is her greatest enemy, a villain fated to disrupt her peaceful days. Despite wanting to break off their engagement, Leonardo becomes inexplicably obsessed with her. Francesca longs for a quiet, ordinary life, yet she must struggle to protect her dream even as her fiancé dotes on her endlessly.
