A television anime adaptation of Monsho Sasakibara‘s Majutsu wo Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyou de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru light novel was announced by Starts Publishing’s official X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
Sasakibara began penning the web novel on the Kakuyomu platform in July 2021. Starts Publishing published the series in a single light novel volume under its Grast Novels imprint titled Tensei Elf ni Yoru 900-nen no Yukyu Slow Life with illustrations by Hatori Kyouka which was released in December 2022.
kanco began serializing a manga adaptation on Comic Grast online magazine in May 2023. Starts Publishing published the fourth volume on May 23, with the fifth volume planned for November 28 release.
Synopsis
Minoru Kido, age 30, cause of death: traffic accident. As a Japanese, I died without leaving any evidence of my life. At the time of my death, I was thinking, “Next time, I want to live a long life and leave behind some proof of my life,” when I was reincarnated as an elf with a life span of 1,000 years! That’s why I made a vow. I vowed that this time I would spend my whole life living in a way that would leave a mark on my life.
At the age of 20, I was able to use all of the healing magic that elves were originally equipped with at will. By the age of 30, I had mastered all attribute magic, and by the age of 100, I had deciphered all the ancient magic formulas. For the remaining 900 years of my life, all I have to do is run out of the Elven forest and become a warrior.
One day, I’ll be missed by a fledgling adventurer who will eventually be called a hero. Sometimes, a country is founded in my name. Sometimes, I was called the founder of magic and became an object of worship. This is the story of a reincarnated elf who roars his name into history as a living legend.
