Broadcasting company TBS announced a television anime adaptation of Midori Tayama‘s Girl Crush manga on Thursday. The announcement also revealed a commemorative visual (pictured) drawn by Tayama. TBS Television and Enishiya are credited for planning and production.
Tayama began serializing the K-Pop idol manga on the Line Manga website in November 2020. Shinchosha began publishing physical copies in April 2025 and shipped the fourth the fourth volume on September 9. Girl Crush has a cumulative 900,000 copies in circulation.
Comikey licensed the manga in English for digital releases in 2021. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in October 2024 and released the third volume on October 21. The fourth volume is scheduled to go on sale on December 9.
