
A television anime adaptation of Tsutomu‘s Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. (Middle-Aged Man Loves Cute Things) manga was announced by e-book distribution company BookLive on Saturday. The anime series is being produced by animation studio LIDENFILMS for a 2026 airing.
Tsutomu began drawing the comedy slice of life manga on the Comic Polaris website in July 2017. Flex Comics published the 11th volume on February 14.
A live-action drama adaptation aired on Yomiuri TV in five episodes from August to September in 2020. Coinciding with the release of the fourth volume, BookLive released a manga video starring voice actors Kenjirou Tsuda and Takuya Satou as Mitsutaka Oji and Wataru Naruto, respectively.
Synopsis
Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. is a heartwarming comedy about Mitsutaka Oji, a cool and capable 42-year-old section chief who looks like the perfect “ikemen middle-aged man.” But he has a secret: he loves cute characters and small adorable things.
Unable to tell his coworkers, Oji navigates his daily life while quietly treasuring his hobby. The series follows his hidden struggles and gentle moments as an “uncle who loves cute things.”
