The official website of the Tennis no Oujisama (The Prince of Tennis) franchise announced a sequel for the Shin Tennis no Oujisama: U-17 World Cup (The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup) television anime on Sunday. Subtitled U-17 World Cup Kesshou Member Ketteisen, the sequel depicts the final match between Japan and Spain. The website also revealed a logo featuring the team’s colors (pictured).
Produced by Studio Kai and M.S.C, the U-17 World Cup television anime aired in 13 episodes in Summer 2022, followed by latest season, titled U-17 World Cup Semifinal in Fall 2024. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and subsequently streamed an English dub.
The original sports manga was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1998 and 2008 and compiled into 42 volumes. The sequel manga began in Jump SQ. the following year. Shueisha published the 45th volume on September 4.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2004 and published all 42 volumes between May 2004 and July 2011.
