Publishing company SB Creative announced a television anime and live-action adaptation of Toumei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita. (Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky), the first volume of Nanigashi Shima‘s Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita. Series, on Friday.
The live-action series will air on December 11 at 12:59 a.m. on MBS’ Drama Tokku programming block, followed by Television Kanagawa (tvk), Chiba TV, Teletama, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. Ryouma Kosasa (Takara no Vidro) is directing the live-action, starring Riko Nagase (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru live-action) and Taiyu Fujiwara (Yuzuki-san Chi no Yonkyoudai. live-action).
Shima began publishing the romance drama series under SB Creative’s GA Bunko imprint in August 2023, featuring illustrations by raemz (Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka). The second volume went on sale in August 2024.
A manga adaptation by hat. began on Manga UP! website in August 2024. The first volume was released on July 7.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English last August and released the first volume on January 21.
The light novel ranked fifth in the Bunkobon category in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 rankings.
Synopsis
On an April night in Tokyo, still too early for fireworks, university student Kakeru Mano meets a woman named Koharu Fuyutsuki. She is a beautiful girl who stands out from the crowd, laughs a lot, and exudes a warmth that contrasts sharply with Kakeru’s own introversion. But there was something Kakeru didn’t know at first—she can’t see. Unlike Kakeru, Koharu hasn’t given up on anything, even with her blindness. She attends university daily, shows interest in clubs, makes friends—and dreams of launching fireworks one day. Kakeru wonders why, when she can’t see them…but maybe it doesn’t matter.
