‘Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers’ Unveils Additional Cast, Staff, Theme Songs, First Promo

The official website for Sunrise original anime series Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (Samurai Troopers) unveiled the additional cast, staff, a key visual (pictured), the theme songs, and first promotional video for the television anime sequel on Tuesday. Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers is scheduled to run for split cours, with the first part debuting on January 6 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by Kansai TV and BS11.

J-rock band blank paper (Kyoukai Senki) is performing the opening theme “YOAKE.” J-group ONE OR EIGHT is performing the ending theme “POWER.”

Youichi Fujita (Gintama) is directing the anime at Sunrise. Shougo Mutou (Biohazard: Infinite Darkness) is handling the series composition and penning the script, and Yuuhei Murota (Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san) is designing the characters. Shuuji Katayama (Overlord) is composing the music.

Produced by Sunrise, the original television anime aired in 39 episodes from Spring 1998 to Winter 1989. Three original animation sequels were released, with the final 5-episode OVA released in 1991.

Hajime Yatate and Ryuuichi Hoshino began serializing a manga adaptation in Comic Bonbon in 1988. Kodansha published the second and final volume in 1989.
