
The MF Bunko J Autumn School Festival 2025 revealed new cast (pictured above), staff, a key visual (pictured right), and the first promotional video for the Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 4th Season: 2-nensei-hen 1 Gakki (Classroom of the Elite IV) on Sunday. The fourth season adapting the 2-nensei-hen (Year 2) sequel light novel will begin airing in April 2026.

The first three seasons adapting Shougo Kinugasa‘s school psychological light novel—also known by its short title You-Zitsu—aired in Summer 2017, Summer 2022, and Winter 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the first season with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub. The former also simulcasted the second and third seasons.
MF Bunko J imprint released the original light novel in 14 volumes between May 2015 and September 2019, featuring illustrations by Shunsaku Tomose (Ange Vierge). The 2-nensei-hen (Year 2) sequel light novel began the following January and ended it with 15 volumes in November 2024.
Kinugasa launched 3-nensei-hen (Year 3)—the third installment in the series—on March 14 this year. Kadokawa published the second volume on July 25, with the third volume scheduled for a November 25 release (pictured right). You-Zitsu has a cumulative 10.8 million copies of its volumes in print, including digital editions.
Yuyu Ichino began a manga adaptation of the first light novel in Monthly Comic Alive in January 2016. Kadokawa shipped the 12th volume in February 2022.
Xia Sasane serialized a manga adaptation of the 2-nensei-hen (Year 2) sequel light novel in the same magazine from December 2021 to December 2024. Kadokawa released the fourth and final volume on January 22.
Hachi Komada began drawing a second manga adapting the sequel light novel in Monthly Comic Alive on January 27. Kadokawa published the first volume on August 21.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in July 2018 and June 2021, respectively. The 12th volume of the sequel novel was released on October 7. The 12th manga volume adapting the first light novel shipped last November. The publisher also released the two-volume Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: √Horikita (Classroom of the Elite: Horikita) spin-off manga in English in July and October 2023.
